Cooking

We like to cook. Our three sons like to eat. Sometimes, things work out just great.

Up until about ten years ago, we dabbled in fancy Bon Appetit - style cooking. Though the results were satisfactory, we really didn't enjoy the amount of labor required to produce what we believed to be frou frou dishes. So, we've been trying to hone our basic recipes since then. Our goal is to be solid, everyday cooks.

We don't claim to be very good, but we enjoy our meals. So here are a few of our recipes -- give them a try and let us know what you think about them.

Our Favorite Brownies - A dense, very chocolate brownie. Date Balls - A special treat made with dates, crisp rice and coconut.
Old Time Molasses Cookies - If your grandmother baked, she made these. Chocolate Chip Cookies - The texture comes from Crisco and butter.
Double Chocolate Chip Cookies - A rich chocolate cookie with chips. Yampples - A simple, different side dish with yams and apples.
Barbecued Shrimp - This also works with pork and chicken. Carrot Salad - Grated raw carrots with a quick dressing.
Zucchini Bread - A great way to use all those zucchinis. Red BBQ Sauce - After years of experimentation, here is our contribution to the cause.
Chile Verde - A cooking sauce made with green chiles. Cranberry Cheesecake Bars - This is a quick and simple recipe with a rolled oat crust, and tastes great.
