This is a good version of an old
time, just like Grandma used to make, recipe. For the best crinkled tops, make certain to
allow enough time for the dough to chill.

Servings: 24
| 3/4 c |
butter or margarine |
2 tsp |
baking soda |
| 1 c |
packed brown sugar |
1/2 tsp |
salt |
| 1/4 c |
molasses |
1 tsp |
ground ginger |
| 1 |
egg |
1 tsp |
ground cinnamon |
| 2 1/4 c |
flour |
1/2 tsp |
ground cloves |
1) Cream the brown sugar and butter.
2) Add the egg and molasses, and mix well.
3) Add the remaining ingredients, and mix thoroughly.
4) Chill the dough for a few hours.
5) Preheat oven to 350.
6) Form the dough into about 1 inch balls, then roll in white sugar.
7) Space balls about 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes and cool on a rack.
